Thanks to a free Wordpress Plugin called Mippen, you can now get this site in an agreeable format on your iPhone, Blackberry, Palm Device, or other Smartphones and other mobile devices. It’s all a part of my ongoing effort to reach as many people as possible in a manner that is convenient for them.

Good thing he is behind a fence!
Some enterprising person with a lot of time on his or her hands created this festive holiday monster for the amusement of drivers on Millhopper Road. He can be spotted on the left if you are going west, and past the Interstate. I wonder if this is what those people wanted to “Save Millhopper Road” from?
I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday, and I hope some of you will participate in this blog in the coming New Year. It’s free. People do come here. and more people will come here via Google searches if there are more things to find in different categories. This is a very busy time for me, so I am not able to go about taking pictures of all local businesses and writing about them. I really need them to do it themselves. It’s more convenient for me, more certain for them that they will get some benefit, and it is FREE. These are hard times right now, and the idea that a local business would just blow off this free local venue is hard for me to fathom.
This is how you get started. Register by clicking on the “Register” button. Fill out the fields that are required. Wait until I send you an email letting you know you have Author permissions so that you CAN blog here. (I have set up this cumbersome step to keep out Viagara and fake Rolex spammers, among others.) After that, you come to the site, click on “Login”, use your username and password, and choose to write a Post. When you are done, click “Publish”. That is how it gets on the site.
Good luck!

In case you hadn’t noticed, I added a category for non-profits. That means if you are a local charity, people who want to give locally can find you more easily. And who doesn’t want more exposure on the web? Especially when it’s free??
C’mon! Register!

As you can see from my last post, the photo uploader is now working. My service provider has heard my cry and fixed it!

I have been self-employed in this community for over 25 years, and I have long wanted to figure out how to create a networking medium that made it easier for independent service providers to do business with each other. Expanding on that idea, I thought it would also be good if people who want to shop locally could find us easily in one convenient place. I think this is it.
For the past few years I have been doing this service for local political candidates, and it has gotten pretty good traffic. However, political candidates have proven to be a bit backward when it comes to the Internet. I offer them a free service, and they largely ignore it, even though the site has a good sized audience. I am betting that small business people have more sense than that.
So, how does it work? Start by using the sign-up link in the right sidebar. It costs nothing to do this. After you have filled out a brief profile, telling what it is that you offer, I will review it and give you Author privaleges. That means you can post articles just like this one any time you want. It also means you can create a permanent page for the right sidebar if you like. That way, people can still find you even if you have not posted an article in a long time.
Why would you post an article from time to time? To let people know when a new product has come in, or a new service is available, or when something is on sale, or just to brag about what a great job you did for someone. You would do the stuff you’d like to do to keep your business before the public anyway. And the more information there is about you on the Internet, the easier it is for search engines like Google to find you!
At this time I am still working some of the bugs out with my service provider. If anyone would like to test drive this with me while it is in its obvious beta stage, go right ahead and register. I will grant you author permissions after you fill out the profile entry at your control panel. And please do not supply fake email addresses.
Thanks,
Don Marsh
